Background
The first ACAMS was developed for the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority
(NATAM) in 1998/99. NATAM realised the need to provide the air traffic
controllers with a modern, better-arranged working environment as
replacement of the ever-increasing number of monitors, controls of
diverse appearance and age in an overloaded console.
The R&D contract was awarded the domestic Norwegian company Artech
AS (Automation & Robot Technique). Artech did at the time already
have a working relationship with NATAM supplying a number of Airfield
Lighting Control systems at many Norwegian airports.
The new ACAMS concept proved it self well in operation at ATC and
AFIS TWR’s around in Norway. The company ACAMS AS was therefore
founded based on an initiative to bring this now proven good concept
out to the international civil and military airports.
The founders of ACAMS AS represents the engineering company Artech
AS, and a group of engineers with comprehensive and complementary
experience of system design, project management and marketing of systems
to the field of world wide Airport and ATC industry.
ACAMS AS represents a reliable and competent partner for our customers
who are in need of a supplier of airport tower solutions ranging from
basic single sub-systems to full-scale turnkey tower refurbishment
or new tower programs. |
