Navigation Aids Status Monitoring
The ACAMS Navaids module provides the user with a continuous monitoring
of the various navaids operational status. The status of each navaid
is indicated using a combination of colours and text. In the event
of a status change a visual and audible alert (if enabled) is provided.
The operator may choose to hide equipment which is OK and only show
fault equipment status. The user can activate standby equipment
and switch equipment on and off (if configured). Status information
is presented in real time.
A PLC is used to monitor and control the navigational systems remote
control equipment. The PLC communicates with the ACAMS central system
via dualised Ethernet. The ACAMS software runs as separate programs
on each client PC and communicate directly with the PLC. Changes
activated at one position will be shown at all the other positions
in real time.
A fault on one position will not affect the operation at the other
positions. A fault in the communication to the PLC will be indicated
at the operator positions.
The ACAMS system supports all known navaids equipment
